One of the songs in the first set of this week's blues show, Saturday, March 23rd at 11pm, is from "The Blues White Album," a tribute to the Beatles "White Album," featuring Joe Louis Walker performing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."  This song is followed by Buddy Guy's "74 Years Young."  The set begins with Curtis Salgado's "Strung Out" from his Alligator release, "Soul Shot."

This week's music scene has lots of holiday events on tap.  From Cincinnati Film Society's presentation of  the documentary "Jingle Bell Rocks!" to the 3rd Annual Island Christmas Holiday at The Redmoor and the Society Jazz Orchestra at Schwartz's Point Jazz Club.

No Promises, the Randy Villars Trio, and the Bromwell Diehl Band all have concerts this week.  And, Larry Goshorn found some of his & the Goshorn Brothers' cds in his basement & took them to Shake It Records if you're still looking for that special gift for a music lover.

This week on The Blues, Saturday night, December 15th at 11pm, the first set starts with James Blood Ulmer, Monty Alexander Trio, Blind Boys of Alabama, & Aaron Neville.  The second set features Hugh Laurie, Tom Waits, Vinx & Chet Baker, and the show ends with Joey DeFrancesco, Houston Person, & Ruth Brown.
