This week on The Blues, Saturday night, 10/5/19 at 11pm, the first set includes music from Alex Jenkins & the Bombers, Greg Schaber & High Street, and Kelly Richey.  The second set starts off with a song by T-Bone Burnett followed by selections from R.L. Burnside, Bob Dylan, and Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir.  Lonnie Brooks, George Thorogood & the Destroyers, Eric Clapton, and Jonell Mosser fill out the show. 

George Thorogood & the Destroyers will be appearing at Jack Cincinnati Casino in downtown Cincinnati on Saturday night, October 12th at 8pm.  Bob Dylan's making a rare appearance in the area November 8th at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights, KY.  And, Eric Clapton's announced a 2020 European tour starting May 29th which includes 3 shows in Russia.

This week's blues show, Saturday night, September 21st at 11pm, will feature local musicians.  The first set starts off with Lonnie Mack, Noah Hunt, the High Street Rhythm Rockers, and Jimmy McGary.  This set's followed by one with Sweet Alice Hoskins, Sonny Moorman, the Kelly Richey Band, and musicians from the Shades of Blue compilation including Steve Schmidt and Larry Goshorn.

And, the last set in the blues show begins with H-Bomb Ferguson, then Big Joe Duskin, Pigmeat Jarrett, and Ricky Nye.

Kelly Richey has never been one to just sit around. The singer/songwriter is putting out videos, teaching guitar, performing once a month at The Greenwich in Walnut Hills, and facilitating a class at Women Writing for (a) Change

This week's blues show, Saturday, November 3rd at 11pm begins with Keb' Mo', local blues musician Kelly Richey, and RatDog with the great Charlie Musselwhite.  The second set features music from Keith Little, High Street Rhythm Rockers, and Allen Touissant.  

Paul Butterfield's in the spotlight in the third set with two songs, plus an interview Ron Esposito did with the director of the film, "Horn From the Heart: The Paul Butterfield Story," which will be presented at the Woodward Theater on Wednesday, November 7th at 7pm in conjunction with the Cincy Blues Society.

This week's edition of "Music Notes" including information about new releases at Shake It Records and by Fred Hersch.  There are also many upcoming concerts and festivals.  Plus very special collaborative visual/musical projects by Ric Hordinski & Michael Wilson.  WVXU/WMUB will also air a 2-hour special about Joni Mitchell from 10pm-midnight on Saturday evening, June 2nd.

Local musician Kelly Richey is starting 2017 with a new group (the Kelly Richey Power Duo) and will be based out of The Greenwich in Walnut Hills, plus is doing more writing and teaching. 

Shakedown Soul is the title of the 16th album from local guitar legend Kelly Richey.

We're coming up on the 91st anniversary of the birth of blues vocalist Big Maybelle, May 1st, 1924, who lived in Cincinnati during her career and recorded at King Records.  Through the research of music historian, Dave Lewis, you'll hear the story of her career until her death on January 23, 1972 in Cleveland and also lots of her music.

During this one-hour special that'll air at 11pm on Saturday, January 24th, you'll hear an interview by Stuart Holman with Sonny Moorman, and then later in the show, you'll hear an interview I did with Kelly Richey in the Corbett Studio.

This local special starts off with Whiskey Shambles and Kelly Richey who'll both be performing at the Smokin' Hot BBQ event at Findlay Market on Sunday, July 27th.  The 2nd set of this evening's blues show features three musicians, Jarekus Singleton, Selwyn Birchwood, & Guy Forsyth,  who'll be playing at the Cincy Blues Fest on Friday or Saturday evenings, August 1st or 2nd.
