Ohio's congressional delegation followed party lines Tuesday in reacting to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's announcement that she’ll pursue an impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

The “blue wave” that some states experienced last year didn’t sweep Ohio, as Republicans won big. But the top Democrat in Congress says she’s not ready to write Ohio off.

Her party recaptured the House Tuesday and Pelosi plans to seek another term as speaker of the House. But Democrats will need to bridge the demands of progressives and moderates.

In an extraordinarily combative news conference Wednesday after voters delivered him a rebuke by giving control of the House to Democrats, President Trump went after Republicans, Democrats and the media.

He mocked Republican candidates who distanced themselves from him, chided a reporter for asking a "racist question" and walked away from the lectern at one point, as an aide tried to wrest a microphone out of a reporter's hands.
