Terence Blanchard

This week on The Blues, Saturday night at 11pm, April 20th, we'll start off with an interview in WVXU's studio with Leroy Ellington, Marcos Sastre, and Charlie Fletcher who talk with Brian O'Donnell about their new blues cd, Sanctified.  You'll also hear a couple of songs from the cd, too.

After that interview, stay tuned for a set of music with Delbert McClinton, Marcia Ball, and Ray Charles.  And, the show closes out with songs from Irma Thomas, Johnny Adams, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi from the "God Don't Never Change: The Songs of Blind Willie Johnson" cd, and Terence Blanchard.

This week's blues show, Saturday, January 26th, at 11pm, starts off with Gov't Mule, Dr. John, and John Scofield.  The second set features the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, the Blues Merchants, Cream, and Anders Osborne.  And, the show ends with two personal favorites, Deep Rhumba & Terence Blanchard's "In Time of Need."

This week on The Blues, Saturday evening, September 3rd at 11pm, you'll hear an interview I recently recorded with Garland Jeffreys, plus a couple of his songs.  The rest of the program will be in honor of the hurricane victims of Harvey and Katrina.  It's only been 12 years since Katrina hit New Orleans.  Since then, a number of musicians have released cds inspired by Katrina's devastation.
