We know that engaging with politics can often be stressful and overwhelming. OLEA’s upcoming program, titled “Contemplations on Democracy” will provide you with the opportunity to reflect on topics related to the 2024 presidential election in an open and safe environment. Through chamber music, poetry, and visual art, we will present a variety of viewpoints on election issues while leaving room for you to make your own interpretations of the art and form your own opinions on the issues.

The program will function like a town hall, in which audience members will be able to select issues relevant to the 2024 election, and OLEA will perform works inspired by those topics. Pieces we have prepared focus on themes including: climate change, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, immigration, police brutality, healthcare, foreign conflicts, and income inequality. In addition, the League of Women voters will be present to share information and resources about the voting process. Ultimately, we hope this program will leave you inspired to participate in our democracy.
