Great Parks Hispanic Heritage Festival
Great Parks Hispanic Heritage Festival
Great Parks will honor the rich history, culture and contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities through the fourth annual Hispanic Heritage Festival, taking place from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, at Sharon Woods (see note below). The festival is on the first day of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15.
Each year, the Great Parks Hispanic Heritage Festival is a chance to mingle with people and businesses in the local Hispanic community over food, music and fun. These guests can also learn about exploring Sharon Woods and all 22 parks and preserves from Great Parks throughout Hamilton County.
Live music from Tropicoso and dancers from Salsannati and Cincinnati Baila will entertain and encourage others to move to the music. The festival will feature varieties of authentic Hispanic cuisine from vendors including Frios Pops, El Cardenal Taqueria, the Arepa Place, Panaderia Oaxaqueña, El Rey Food Truck and Helados Artesanales Chapin. Cold beer, sangria and frozen margaritas will also be available for purchase.
Children can enjoy crafts, meet Gary the Lion from FC Cincinnati, and strike up a game of soccer on a mini pitch. And as an extra attraction for this event, the Hispanic Heritage Festival will take place only steps away from the new, 10,000 square foot destination playground near Sharon Centre, which opens to the public just a few days earlier.
