Local children’s author Julie Whitney will be reading her rhyming children’s picture book, Astra The Lonely Airplane (Belle Isle Books) at The Bookery Cincy on Saturday, November 25th at 10:30am.

Whitney will be reading the book in the cozy and colorful kids’ corner, showing the video of Captain Dan who gives a tour of the real Astra, signing books and more. And free bookmarks for all the kids!

The book recently received a huge honor when it was one of only six children’s picture books selected as a finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEA), after being meticulously judged by experts from various facets of the book industry profession including publishers, editors, authors and designers.

Astra In Hollywood, the second book in the Astra series, will be released in early 2024.
