Hospice of Cincinnati and the City of Blue Ash will host their second annual “Welcome Home Veterans” event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Summit Park in Blue Ash. The free event will honor area veterans for their service and sacrifice, and give them the “welcome home” recognition some of them never received.
All veterans in the community are invited to gather at 11 a.m. for lunch and fellowship. The community-at-large is invited to join at noon to celebrate the veterans and honor them during a Parade of Heroes.
“Many of our veterans never received the warm ‘welcome home’ that they deserved,” says Julie Alley, MSW, LISW, social worker and veterans service liaison at HOC Navigators. “As a hospice, we believe that all veterans, regardless of where they are in their life’s journey, deserve a meaningful acknowledgement of their service from a grateful nation.”
The event will be held under the Main Canopy at Summit Park, 4335 Glendale Milford Rd., Blue Ash.
Veterans can call (513) 246-9291 to register, or visit: https://tinyurl.com/5eva3h29. Community members do not need to register.
Veterans often have unique needs at the end of life based on their military service and experience. Hospice of Cincinnati is dedicated to offering veteran-centered care to provide the best and most meaningful advanced illness and end-of-life experience to those who have served.
