International fireworks competition being launched in Cincinnati

Fireworks will light up the night sky over Coney Island Saturday in the nation's first-ever "Fire Up The Night." 

The event will pit fireworks teams from the U.S., Canada and Mexico against each other in a pyrotechnic extravaganza.  It's being sponsored by Cincinnati-based fireworks legend Rozzi's Famous Fireworks.

Alonzo Fireworks from  New York, Sirius Pyrotechnics from Quebec and Lux Pirotecnia from Mexico City  will be competing for international bragging rights.

Rozzi's will put on a show after the competition.

Admission is $20 a carload and includes parking, rides, live stage entertainment and more.  Park gates open at 5 p.m.
