If you're traveling to or near Downtown this weekend, take note: Oktoberfest and the Hudy 14K will close some streets. Here's what you need to know:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati takes place from Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22 and as such the following streets will close beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday and remain closed until Monday, Sept. 23 at 5 a.m:
- Second Street between Elm and Walnut streets
- Third Street between Walnut and Elm streets
- Vine Street/Rosa Parks Street between Fourth Street and Freedom Way, with local parking access maintained between Fourth Street and Third Street and between Freedom Way and Second Street
- Race Street between Fourth Street and Freedom Way, with local parking access maintained between Fourth Street and Third Street and between Freedom Way and Second Street
- Freedom Way between Marian Spencer Way and Rosa Parks Street
Also Closed Saturday
The Hudy 14K/7K takes place Saturday, Sept. 21. The following roads will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to approximately noon that day:
- Mehring Way westbound between E. Pete Rose Way and Freeman Ave; eastbound closed east of Central Avenue (Mehring Way will close at 5:30 AM between Elm Street and Johnny Bench Way)
- E. Pete Rose Way between Eggleston Avenue and Johnny Bench Way
- Eggleston Avenue southbound between Central Pkwy and E. Pete Rose Way
- Broadway between Ninth Street and Eggleston Avenue
- Reading Road south/westbound between Liberty Street and Eggleston Avenue
- Moore Street between Walnut Street and Liberty Street
- McMicken Street between McMillan Street and Main Street
- Brighton Approach between Central Avenue and McMicken Street
- Central Avenue eastbound between Colerain Avenue and Linn Street
- Colerain Avenue between Harrison Avenue and Bank Street
- Harrison Avenue eastbound between Spring Grove Avenue and Colerain Avenue
- Dalton Avenue/ Spring Grove Ave northbound between Linn St and Harrison Ave
- Linn Street northbound between Gest Street and Dalton Avenue
- W. Fifth St between Linn Street and Gest Street
- Gest Street between W. Sixth Street and Mehring Way
- W. Pete Rose Way between Central Avenue and Gest Street
- Central Avenue between W Pete Rose Way and Mehring Way
- Elm Street between Freedom Way and Mehring Way
- Joe Nuxhall Way between Freedom Way and Mehring Way
- Third Street south curb lane between Central Avenue and Gest Street
- Clay Wade Bailey Bridge
- W. Pete Rose Way between Mehring Way and Central Avenue
- Ramp LL
- Taylor Southgate Bridge
Metro bus service that normally uses this area will be detoured around the closures. The city urges riders to follow any instructions posted at their stop.
