NKU Student-Entrepreneur Heads to Silicon Valley

Isaiah Kelly loves shoes and loves painting, and now he has an award-winning business model based on those interests that has landed him a trip to Silicon Valley.

Kelly won the Entrepreneurs' Organization's Global Student Entrepreneurship Award - Cincinnati Regional Competition, the first Northern Kentucky University student to do so.

He is the founder of Smoove Creations, which he developed at NKU's student business accelerator known as the INKUBATOR. Smoove Creations is a customization-based service for shoes that cleans, restores or customizes the style. In addition to attending the GSEA Finals, Kelly also received $1,000 in prize money, and an additional $10,000 in business services from winning the competition.

Kelly now moves on to the national competition in Silicon Valley.

Kelly joins Cincinnati Edition along with INKUBATOR Assistant Director Zac Strobl, and fellow student entrepreneur Elizabeth Shrout, the founder of Avasha, an app that helps women who struggle with finding clothes and knowing what to buy and where to buy it.
