WVXU Talks With New Host Of '1A' Jenn White
In 2017, when a new program replaced the long-running Diane Rehm Show, the producers and host of 1A recognized the proverbial "big shoes" they were tasked to fill.
It didn't take long, though, for 1A to captivate its own share of radio listenership through its in-depth conversations about the state of the nation and the world.
Now, three years later, the show is going through its own evolution of voices.
Inaugural host Joshua Johnson left the Washington, D.C.- and WAMU-based program for a TV opportunity at MSNBC.
And so began the search for the next host.
Ultimately, well-known and respected public radio journalist and host Jenn White of Chicago's WBEZ was tapped, and just this week, after a long car ride from the Windy City to the nation's capital, she welcomed listeners to the show.
Jenn White joined Cincinnati Edition to talk about the new opportunity, the show and the role of public media in today's national conversation.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
