Funeral services for Pamela Smitherman have been announced after her death earlier this week following a two-year battle with breast cancer.
The wife of Cincinnati Vice Mayor Christopher Smitherman was 48 years old.  She also leaves behind five children.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26 at Allen Temple AME Church, 7030 Reading Road, at 11 a.m.  Visitation begins at 9 a.m.

"We would like to extend our gratitude to all of those who have assisted out family, extended their condolences and shared kind words in the memory of Pamela," Christopher Smitherman said in a written statement. "This has been an extremely difficult time, however, we find solace in the love our community has shown and the continued effort to lift us up in prayer."

The family has asked that memorial donations be given to Hospice of Cincinnati, The Karen Wellington Foundation, UC Health Barrett Cancer Center or the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
