Understanding and predicting atmospheric rivers

Here & Now‘s Anthony Brooks speaks with research meteorologist F. Martin Ralph about a weather phenomenon that scientists only identified in the past decade: atmospheric rivers of water vapor that can bring beneficial rain or devastating flooding. Ralph has been formulating a weather alert system for them.
