Kathy Witt provides a guide to the interesting and unusual in Greater Cincinnati.

Long-time residents of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky can usually recommend several places around town that are worth a visit, from the Carew Tower observation deck to the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park or Boone County Arboretum.

But there are dozens of interesting places and unusual sites in our region that even many natives might not be aware of, such as the Damascus Room at the Cincinnati Art Museum or the Melan Arch Bridge.

In her latest book, Secret Cincinnati: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure, local author Kathy Witt provides 89 opportunities to explore our area's rich history and discover - or rediscover - some of the more amazing aspects of Greater Cincinnati.

Joining Cincinnati Edition for a look at some of the more weird and wonderful places in Greater Cincinnati are author Kathy Witt and her husband, photographer John Witt.

If you know of a "secret" spot in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, visit Secret Cincinnati's Facebook page and post it there.

Kathy and John Witt will be at the Kenton County Public Library's Covington branch on Saturday, December 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., for "Secrets, Songs and Santa Claus Are Coming to Town." Hear about the life of Haven Gillespie and his famous Christmas song, then enjoy the 1970 stop-motion classic, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

Tune in to Cincinnati Edition Dec. 12 starting at 1 p.m. to hear this segment.
