Get rid of campaign signs; help the homeless

Now that the election is over, you may have some old campaign signs laying around.

Instead of tossing them out and allowing them to land in a landfill, you have an opportunity tonight to recycle them in a way that will help the homeless of Cincinnati.

A group called Re:Signed to Help is collecting political yard signs and plans to "re-purpose" them - converting them into water-resistant blankets that will be donated to the City Gospel Mission and be distributed to the homeless.

You can drop off your signs from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Japps at 1134 Main Street in Over-the-Rhine, where, if you donate, you can also enjoy $5 "hot totties," $2 Yuengling beers and treats from Mayberry's restaurant in Over-the-Rhine.

More information on Re:Signed to Help can be found at the group's Facebook page.
