Tri-State stores are not nearly as busy now after many of them pushed up their Black Friday opening. WVXU caught up with some people who waited until later to start their shopping and others who were almost finished.
Chris Heckle was a little late to the Black Friday party, showing up at Best Buy at 8 this morning, eight hours after the store opened. This was his third stop after Lowe's and Home Depot. For him, the Black Friday routine is off and on.
"I did it several years ago and it was too much mayhem so I stopped doing it. But this year, it's been good."
Walmart was open more than a day with deals before Holly Ann Berry came to the store with a friend.
"It's hit or miss. We're either going to find the stuff or we're not. It's not gong to break us if we don't so we just go and it's an adventure. You make fun of it."
Berry didn't have any door buster deals she was after, but Danae Riggs did. She was in line before the 9 pm Thanksgiving opening at Target.
"I have an 11 year old who has been fantasizing about an iPad so I have to bring it home this year."
When the Target gates did open cheers of "Thank You" and "I'm excited" filled the night air.
