Revisiting Queensgate II As It's Demolished For Parking

It was a major project undertaken by the city of Cincinnati as part of the urban renewal trend of the mid-20th century.

Queensgate II, created as a destination near Music Hall on Central Parkway, offered an amphitheater, a park, and its grander plan called for shopping and more entertainment options.

But just as soon as it was completed it fell into disrepair and was mostly unused.

The city tore it down in recent months to make way for a parking lot to serve the police department.

Cincinnati Edition explores the project's history and its failure.
