NFL Games, 'Last Man Standing' And Lots Of Familiar Faces On Fox For 2018-19 Season

"The Cool Kids" retirement home sitcom stars (from left) Leslie Jordan, Vicki Lawrence, David Alan Grier and Martin Mull.

Fox programmers are going with a conservative game plan this fall with the addition of Thursday night NFL games.

Fox will add just two new comedies, plus revive Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing," canceled a year ago by ABC.

The "new" faces of Fox this fall will be familiar: Allen and Nancy Travis on "Last Man Standing;" Martin Mull, Vicki Lawrence, David Alan Grier and Leslie Jordan in "The Cool Kids" retirement home sitcom; and Lil Rel Howery ("Get Out," "The Carmichael Show") on "Rel."

Tim Allen and Nancy Travis return in "Last Man Standing" a year after ABC canceled it.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar ("Pitch," "Franklin & Bash," "NYPD Blue") will star in "The Passage," a midseason drama about a secret medical facility experimenting with a dangerous virus that could end the human race – or cure many diseases.

Fox also announced Monday that the fifth and final season of "Gotham" will start at midseason.

GONERS:  "New Girl," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (moving to NBC), "The Exorcist," "Last Man on Earth," "Life Sentence" and "Lucifer."

BACK FOR MORE: "9-1-1," "Empire," "Star," "Family Guy," "The Four: Battle for Stardom," "The Gifted," "Gotham," "Hell's Kitchen," "The Orville," "The Resident," "The Passage," "Proven Innocent," "The Simpsons," "So You Think You Can Dance," "Beat Shazam," "Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours To Hell & Back," "Love Connection," "Masterchef," "Masterchef Junior" and "Showtime at the Apollo."

EVENTS:  The Tony Award-winning "Rent" musical will air live on Fox Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 (7-10 p.m.). No casting was announced.

LIMITED SERIES: "Cosmos: Possible Worlds," a joint production with National Geographic, will return for a third season in spring next year.
