“Kiriji” closes out this season of It’s Commonly Jazz on Aug. 27 and promises to be more of a gathering than a performance.
The evening will be modeled after an ancient Nigerian festival filled with dancing, proverbs and the story of a 16-year civil war fought among the Yoruba people of what is now southwestern Nigeria.

The performance is free and open to the public Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. as part of It's Commonly Jazz in the Seasongood Pavilion in Eden Park.
