Officials say the development offers jobs and economic development, but some residents aren’t sold, saying a lack of transparency is leaving them in the dark.

The group is asking the court for an expedited writ of mandamus to get the charter amendment on the ballot in November.

Residents collected more than 300 valid signatures for the petition. But, council determined that didn't meet the threshold set by the city's charter.

City Council voted Thursday to approve an agreement granting developer Prologis a 15-year, 75% property tax abatement on the value of the planned data center buildings.

While construction on a planned 250-megawatt data center in Trenton is underway, a group of neighbors is trying to stop more of these warehouse-like facilities in the future.

The proposed data center development would be one of the biggest in Greater Cincinnati. It would include four buildings and an electrical substation on more than 140 acres of land in Trenton’s industrial park.

A site plan review for an 880,000 square-foot data center in Trenton proposed by developer Prologis is set for the March 30 Planning Commission meeting.
