This week on The Blues, Saturday night at 11pm, January 25th, the show begins with a song written by Jimmy Smith and performed by Joey DeFrancesco, "Bayou."  Songs by Ruth Brown and Hugh Laurie fill out that set.  

Music by Tony Joe White, Garland Jeffrys, Steely Dan, and Honey Island Swamp Band are included in the second set.  You'll hear music from Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, Cyndi Lauper, and Peter Frampton in the third set.  And, the show ends with Delbert McClinton and Marcia Ball.  Delbert's coming to Ludlow Garage March 30th.

This week's blues show, Saturday, December 7th at 11pm, starts off with Ernestine Anderson and the Monty Alexander Trio followed by the Blind Boys of Alabama and "Christmas Prayer" by Aaron Neville.  The Blind Boys of Alabama are playing Lexington next Wednesday night, December 11th.

You'll hear Hugh Laurie, Birthday Boy Tom Waits, Vinx, and Chet Baker in the second set.  And, the show ends with Joey DeFrancesco, Houston Person's "Santa Baby," and Ruth Brown.   Hugh Laurie's coming back to American television in an HBO series,"Avenue 5," next month.

This week on The Blues, which'll air at 11pm on Saturday, March 21st, the show begins with a song written by Jimmy Smith "Bayou" and is played by the great Joey DeFrancesco.  This is followed by Ruth Brown with a recording she did in 1989, "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" with Grady Tate on drums and altoist Hank Crawford.
