The Fillmore Wind Band is Cincinnati's official wind band and is comprised of professional and semi-professional musicians from around the area. They have been invited to perform at New York City's Carnegie Hall in May, so their upcoming Christmas concert will help fund that trip. Stewart Blatt, President of the band, and Assistant Conductor Avious Jackson join Lee Hay with more on their December 7 concert featuring special guest emcee, Nancy James.

Chuck Miller, the former WNKU-FM manager who bought Middletown's neglected Sorg Opera House for "less than a new car," has resigned as board president to become executive director of the Fox Theater in Hutchinson, Kansas.

He is best-known as lead singer/frontman and merrymaker-in-chief for Cincinnati rockers THE MENUS, but Tim Goldrainer is equally at home with Sinatra, Martin, Crosby and Nat King Cole in his other band, CURLY & the Q-BALLS.  Tim and Cueballs pianist Greg Dastillung took a break from rehearsing their annual Christmas show to drop by WVXU's Corbett Studio on November 30th for a visit with Elaine Diehl and a swingin’ take on an Irving Berlin classic Christmas song, "White Christmas."  Curly & the Q-Balls w

This week in Cincinnati you'll find a benefit show for the Longworth-Anderson concert series at Memorial Hall.  There's also "Guys & Dolls"  at CCM, big band concerts at the Redmoor & the Sorg Opera House, plus the Cripple Creek Music Festival, the Falling for Wiedemann Fall Festival, and for Halloween fans the Wake the Dead Bash in Music Hall's Ballroom.

Cirque Du Soleil is also bringing one of their shows, Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities to the 3 big screens in Cincinnati one night only 11/13.  And, there's big news about the preservation of John & Alice Coltrane's Long Island home.

Middletown's Sorg Opera House will celebrate local icon Rosemary Clooney's 90th birthday with a tribute concert featuring singer Nancy James with the RL Big Band.

One of the Cincinnati area's favorite singers, Nancy James (once of The Bob Braun Show) is preparing for two, very different, holiday concerts.

The next concert from The Carnegie in Covington is a walk down memory lane for local TV fans. Nancy James and Rob Reider, longtime regulars on the old Bob Braun Show, will perform together on February 28 and they are in the studio to talk with Brian O’Donnell about their memories of those days and what fans can expect to hear during Thursday’s concert.
