The SkyStar is extending its stay in Cincinnati.

The 150-foot-high Ferris wheel at The Banks is sticking around a little longer than planned. The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber says the attraction is being extended through June 16, 2019.

"In its short stay, SkyStar has already become a Greater Cincinnati tradition and a beautiful addition to Cincinnati's skyline," says Cynthia Oxley, director of Corporate and Community Events for the chamber in a statement.

The chamber reports more than 100,000 people have taken a spin on the wheel since it opened in September.

It was originally scheduled to end its Cincinnati run Dec. 2.

The Ferris wheel features 36 climate controlled gondolas. Spinning 15 stories in the air, each ride consists of four revolutions lasting about 12 minutes.
