Harriet Beecher Stowe House
05:00 PM - 08:00 PM on Fri, 26 Sep 2025
Attend the Edgemont Inn Tavern Re-Enactment at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House on September 26.
Experience an unforgettable evening of history, music, and community as The Harriet Beecher Stowe House and The Voice of Black Cincinnati present the Edgemont Inn Tavern Re-Enactment — a lively tribute to a lesser-known chapter of Cincinnati's past.
Live music by the YOLO Band featuring Lavieena Campbell brings the sounds of the 1940s to life with classic jazz, swing, and blues. Food, drinks, and local retail vendors will be on-site, offering a taste of the community spirit that once defined the era — and still thrives today.
Brandi La’Sherrill will share the fascinating story of the Edgemont Inn, a Green Book-listed tavern and boarding house once operated by Irene Bacon in the historic Stowe House during segregation. Between sets, the narrative unfolds about how this iconic home became a vibrant hub for Black travelers and Walnut Hills neighbors.
Friends, dancing shoes, and a sense of curiosity are welcome at this unique, adults-only outdoor concert experience. It blends music, storytelling, and Black history in one unforgettable night. The legacy of the Edgemont Inn lives on — where history, culture, and community converge.
