Studio Kroner invites you to join us on Friday Sept. 6 from 6-9 pm for the opening reception of “My Ality,” an exhibition featuring new paintings and drawings by renowned artist Cedric Michael Cox. The show runs from September 6- 29.
Cedric Michael Cox is celebrated for his unique blend of surrealism and representational abstraction. His work combines abstract and recognizable images, drawing inspiration from music, nature, architecture, and art history. "My Ality" showcases over twenty new works created from early 2023 to now, exploring styles from hard-edge abstraction to narrative still life and cityscapes.
Artist Statement:
“The exhibition title, My Ality, is inspired by the prefix re- in the word reality. When I think of my work as an artist living in the creative pursuit of beauty, I don’t see my purpose in this reality as refurbished or retraced. Therefore, reality becomes My Ality. In my work, I have found the purest form of existence is constantly moving forward, not backward, in the direction of progress and innovation. Instead of returning to a reality that once was, we can march ahead of our perceptions and prejudgments, turning toward a new Ality as we evolve creatively and spiritually.” - Cedric Michael Cox
Artist Background:
Cedric Michael Cox’s work is featured in corporate collections and numerous public murals throughout the Cincinnati region. His past exhibitions include notable venues such as The Contemporary Arts Center of Cincinnati, The Weston Art Gallery, The Columbus Art Museum, the Dayton Art Institute, and The Taft Museum of Art. Recent highlights include a 20-year retrospective at Caza Sikes Gallery, contributions to the “Black Lives Matter Mural” in front of Cincinnati City Hall, and a large-scale mural for the Cincinnati Zoo’s new elephant house. Cox’s art has been prominently featured in books, magazines, and television and is collected regionally and nationally.

The GarbologistsBy Lindsay JoelleRegional Premiere ComedySeptember 14–October 6, 2024
One person’s trash is someone else’s treasure.
Two essential workers from different worlds discover there’s more that binds them than taking out the trash in this off-beat buddy comedy. Danny and Marlowe are polar opposites: he’s a gruff NYC sanitation worker hiding a heart of gold, and she’s a determined Ivy-League-educated newbie assigned to his route. Amidst their shifts spent bickering, they each have some wisdom to share, but will the other listen? When thrown together to pick up what the world has discarded, they learn that some things are easier to toss than others.
