Coronavirus
As a new strain of coronavirus (COVID-19) swept through the world in 2020, preparedness plans, masking policies and more public policy changed just as quickly. WVXU has covered the pandemic's impact on the Tri-State from the very beginning, when on March 3, 2020, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine barred spectators from attending the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus over concerns about the virus, even though Ohio had yet to confirm a single case of COVID-19.

As we prepare for Thanksgiving one question looms: Should we gather around the table with our extended family?

Coronavirus cases are surging nationwide and the CDC is warning Americans not to travel for the holidays and not to spend Thanksgiving with people outside of their household. So how will you mark the occasion, and how should you broach the subject with family members?

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the best safety precautions for the big day and how to cope with the emotions surrounding the holidays are UC Health Stress Center Director and UC College of Medicine Adjunct Professor Kathleen Chard, Ph.D.; and Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics President-elect and Pediatric Associates of Mount Carmel Pediatrician Chris Peltier, MD.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
