Close to 800,000 Americans each year suffer a new or recurrent stroke, and while stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States, there are nearly 7 million stroke survivors in the U.S. Joining us to discuss the causes, risks, and treatments for stroke are Neurointensivist Dr. Opeolu Adeoye, medical director of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Telestroke Program;  Cindy Werner, a senior clinical research coordinator with the  UC Stroke Team; and, Dr. Brian Katz, neurologist and vascular neurology fellow in the UC Medical Center Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine. For more information: NIH StrokeNet.
