As a new strain of coronavirus (COVID-19) swept through the world in 2020, preparedness plans, masking policies and more public policy changed just as quickly. WVXU has covered the pandemic's impact on the Tri-State from the very beginning, when on March 3, 2020, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine barred spectators from attending the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus over concerns about the virus, even though Ohio had yet to confirm a single case of COVID-19.

Health Collaborative Coordinates Emergency Requests

Cincinnati Edition speaks with Sara Moore, senior manager of emergency preparedness with the non-profit Health Collaborativeabout their work responding to health care emergencies in the Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana region.

The Health Collaborative is a part of the Greater Cincinnati Disaster Preparedness Coalition and they say they are working to respond to the current COVID-19 outbreak bycoordinating and filling requests that come in from hospitals and other providers needing emergency supplies. Their members include hospitals, emergency medical services, emergency management, public health and other community partners in parts of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
