Cincinnati Council Member angry about streetcar delays

Jay Hanselman

Cincinnati Council Member Chris Seelbach is telling streetcar supporterson Twitter his patience is beginning to run thin with the project.

He wrote either city administrators need to get going or they don't.  He asked how many times will the date for operations to start be pushed back.

The original plan called for streetcars to be running this year.  Now the projected operating date is 2016.

The city blames state funding decisions and a utility agreement fight with Duke Energy for the delays.

Seelbach suggested on Twitter that a deadline be set to get the system operating sometime in 2015.  He also said it's insane the time, energy and political will seem to be ignored by the continued lack of any real progress.

Seelbach declined an interview request.
