Tri-state kayak enthusiasts gathered early Thursday for the Sunrise Urban Float.
"This is the most fun event for me because when Paddlefest starts we are all working it," Lynette Jolicoeur of Ft. Mitchell said. Jolicoeur , who runs Flying Olive Kayak Adventures, joins her friends here to paddle a while then go out to breakfast.
Brewster Rhoads said that many of these veteran kayakers serve on the 50-member volunteer water safety crew during the yearly Paddlefest event. Rhoads' organization Green Umbrella is one of the sponsors of the Paddlefest.
