The group behind an effort to restore Over-the-Rhine's Emery Theatre says it's pleased to report the disagreement over the theater has been resolved amicably.
The Requiem Project had been locked in a legal battle with the University of Cincinnati, the partnership that runs the Emery apartments, and the Emery Center Corp.
The Requiem Project aims to restore the theater. It sued UC, which owns the property, in January 2015. The lawsuit alleged UC misused grant funds meant for fixing the theater, was negligent, and was in breach of contract.
Co-Founder Tara Baker tells WVXU in an email that she's glad the lawsuit is over and the group is looking forward to its next creative project. She did not disclose any details of the agreement.
