Cincinnati #2 In Nation For Green Jobs

CH2M, a global engineering and consulting firm, is one of the driving forces for the ease of finding environmentally friendly jobs in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is a great place to find a green job, according to the personal finance website GoodCall. A new report lists the Queen City as number two nationally.  Michelle Billick cites job availability, salary, and the city's affordability.

"A lot of the positions such as technicians, all environmentally focused, project managers, educators, engineers," Billick says. "There is a environmental firm office in Cincinnati CH2M  and that brings in a lot of  environmentally focused positions."

The 2017 Best Cities for a Green Careerreport also mentions Cincinnati is the home to Environmental Quality Management, Inc.

Rankings were based on the number of jobs posted online per capita (on with the word "environmental" in the title and also including the words: conservation, science, scientist, geology, geologist, hydrology, or solar in the description).

GoodCall also factored in salary information from environmental jobs, the cost of living and amenities like housing, food services and art, entertainment and recreation.

"There were more green jobs than the national average, four percent more jobs," says Billick when referencing Cincinnati.
