For more than 30 years, John Kiesewetter has been the source for information about all things in local media – comings and goings, local people appearing on the big or small screen, special programs, and much more. Local media is still his beat and he’s bringing his interest, curiosity, contacts and unique style to Cincinnati Public Radio and 91.7 WVXU. Contact John at johnkiese@yahoo.com.

Happy Holidays! TV Kiese's Annual Program List Is Here

"Mickey's Christmas Carol" airs several times on the Freeform channel.

Charlie Brown, The Grinch, Ralphie, Scrooge, "Elf," "White Christmas," "Miracle on 34th Street"… Yep, they’re all here in my list.

Elmo and Eloise, Linus and Lucy, The Honeymooners and the Clampetts, Carol Brady and Carol Burnett are here too.

Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby in "White Christmas"

My annual Holiday Program Guide below is my biggest ever, since it also includes Christmas and Hanukkah specials broadcast on Cincinnati Public Radio’s WGUC-FM and WVXU-FM.

Print it out. Post it on the fridge. Send the link to friends and family. Circle your favorites so you can spend another Christmas with the Kranks, the Little Drummer Boy, Shrek, Will Farrell, Tim Allen, Jimmy Stewart, Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, the M*A*S*H 4077, Ruth Lyons, Lucy and Ricky, Fred and Ethel.

You'll find all your favorites giving Ebenezer Scrooge the Dickens – George C. Scott, Bill Murray, Mickey Mouse, Albert Finney, Reginald Owen, Jim Carrey and Jonathan Winters.

"Once Upon A Sesame Street Christmas," a new special, airs on WCET-TV in December.

Not into the ghosts of Christmas past?

You'll find new holiday specials with the "Sesame Street" gang, Gwen Stefani, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Pentatonix, Luke Bryan, Ciara, Darius Rucker and 98 Degrees. You’ll find Fox’s new live telecast of "A Christmas Story Live" (in addition to TBS' annual "A Christmas Story" marathon), and "Great Performances: Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, The Broadway Musical."

"Great Performances: Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn, The Broadway Musical" airs Dec. 3 on CET Arts Channel 48.3.

And there are more new Hallmark and Lifetime movies listed than you can shake a peppermint stick at (Spoiler alert: They always fall in love in the final five minutes.).

Though not necessarily Christmas, you'll also see new specials in December from the "Carol Burnett Show," "Dick Van Dyke Show" and "I Love Lucy," and repeats of WCET-TV’s new "Music Hall: The Next Movement." And those great old movies ("Mary Poppins," "The Sound of Music," "Singin' in the Rain," "Bells of St. Mary's," "Toy Story") and newer classics like "Frozen."

And don’t forget MY Santa Clause: Don’t blame me if the networks change their TV schedules on short notice. Remember that I mostly list prime-time shows; some may repeat during the day or overnight. So check online or on-screen guides for shows not on my list.
