Eric Clapton & Nina Simone On The Blues!


This week's blues show, Saturday, June 9th at 11pm, starts off  with guitarist Eric Clapton and Ronnie Kole from New Orleans.  The second set features Charlie Musselwhite, Emmylou Harris and Anders Osborne.  And the second half of The Blues includes the music of Harry Connick, Jr.; Johnny Adams; Nina Simone; B.B. King; Ike & Tina Turner; and Delbert McClinton.

Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater

We're sending out prayers along with his many other fans to the family of Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater who passed away at the age of 83 on Friday, June 1st.  

There's a free blues festival on Saturday, June 23rd at Miami Valley Gaming with two Alligator recording artists on stage - Tinsley Ellis at 6:30 and Lil' Ed and the Imperials at 8:30pm.  Music starts at 4:30.  

Shemekia Copeland's going to release a new Alligator album on August 3rd, America's Child.  Guests on the album include John Prine, Mary Gauthier, Rhiannon Giddens, Emmylou Harris, J.D. Wilkes, Steve Cropper and others.
