Eviction proceedings resumed on Monday in Hamilton County after a delay under the pandemic. Now Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval worries the cases will skyrocket. Cincinnati has one of highest percentage of renters in the nation among large cities. There are currently around 1,000 eviction cases pending due to the court closures under the pandemic.

On Monday, Pureval opened an Eviction Help Center where both tenants and landlords can receive legal resources and information about rental assistance. The help center is staffed by the Clerk of Courts office along with St. Vincent de Paul and the Community Action Agency.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the Eviction Help Center is Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval; and Community Action Agency President and CEO Mark Lawson.
