The Blues: 4/16/16

This week on The Blues, we'll begin the show with Gary Moore's version of "Stormy Monday" featuring Albert King.  We'll also hear from Little Charlie & the Nightcats and the popular guitarist Joe Bonamassa in the first set.  The second set features Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Cassandra Wilson performing one of  Joni Mitchell's songs, Stanley Jordan's "All Blues," and the great vocalist Nina Simone.  And, the program ends with "When the Music's Over" by the Doors from their 1970 Wight Festival performance.

A few concert notes - Hot Tuna's at Covington's Madison Theatre on April 21st, the Blind Boys of Alabama will appear at the Nowhere Else Festival on May 29th and Mavis Staples will join Bob Dylan at the Fraze Pavilion on June 28th.
