New details emerge about the investigation into the Aug. 4 mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, that left nine people dead and several others injured.

Kentucky has ranked among the 10 worst states for child abuse for more than a decade. According to the most recent annual report from the U.S. Department for Health and Human Services, the rate of child abuse and neglect within the state is now the worst in the nation. An investigation by a Louisville Courier Journal reporter details cases of child abuse in Kentucky and looks at what steps are being taken to protect children from mistreatment.

Cincinnati Christian University in East Price Hill has until the end of August to provide a plan to the Higher Learning Commission that addresses a number of concerns that threaten the university's accreditation.

And Macy's CEO says President Trump's announced tariffs against China could potentially affect the company's earnings.
