The impeachment probe at the United States House of Representatives saw multiple twists and turns this week. A former State Department official testified about the appearance of a "quid pro quo" related to U.S. military aid for Ukraine, and House Republicans protested a Democratic-led hearing.

In recent days, former Ohio Governor John Kasich, a Republican, also came out in favor of impeaching President Trump.

Meanwhile, an attorney for President Trump, arguing in a separate case in New York, stated that he believes the president is immune from prosecution, even if Trump had shot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue.

There is also movement in the polls on the Democratic side as votes in Iowa and New Hampshire grow closer. Former Vice President Joe Biden continues to lead nationally, but an Iowa-specific poll shows a tighter race between Biden, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, and a surging South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

It's a full hour of local chat about national politics as The Political Junkie Ken Rudin and WVXU Senior Political Analyst Howard Wilkinson join Cincinnati Edition.
