Talking More About The Calls To Defund Police At City Budget Hearing

At the city of Cincinnati's first budget hearing Tuesday night, many members of the public spoke out against increasing the budget for the Cincinnati Police Department, calling instead to defund the police. Around 200 people turned out in person and on Zoom.

The city's total operating budget is $411.9 million, down from $416.9 million in 2020. But The proposed police budget for the new fiscal year is $155,331,380. That's about $1.2 million higher than the current budget.
