One in seven people worldwide lacks access to vision care, and one in four children in the U.S. has an undiagnosed vision problem.
OneSight, an independent nonprofit founded and sponsored by Luxottica, operates charitable clinics and establishes vision centers in the U.S. and other countries around the world. Since 1988, the organization has helped over ten million people in 53 countries.
Here in Greater Cincinnati, OneSight checks more than 20,000 students each year for vision problems. During September and October, OneSight will hold vision screenings in close to 80 local schools.
Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the importance of vision screenings and how a pair of prescription glasses can change the quality of life for a child, or an adult, are OneSight President and Executive Director K-T Overbey; and Angie Hartman, principal with Social Impact Consulting.
Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
