An Adventurer's Lessons From The Appalachian Trail

The 20th anniversary edition of Jeff Alt's Appalachian Trail memoir.

Adventurer, author and speaker Jeff Alt has been offering humorous life lessons from the trail for two decades. His first book, "A Walk for Sunshine," chronicled his hike along the Appalachian Trail, a journey dedicated to his brother, who has cerebral palsy.

When his brother-in-law tragically died, Jeff convinced his wife, Beth, to set off on a 218 mile hike across the Pacific Crest Trail in California. He told of that adventure in "Four Boots One Journey: A Story of Survival, Awareness & Rejuvenation on the John Muir Trail."

His other books include "Get Your Kids Hiking" and a children's series featuring US National Parks, "The Adventures of Bubba Jones."

Jeff Alt joins us to share some of the lessons he has learned on the trail and discuss the impact getting out and experiencing nature can have on your life.
