Major Changes Coming To Cincinnati's Libraries

Bill Rinehart/WVXU
The Vine Street entrance of the Main Library has big changes coming under the system's master plan.

Cincinnati's oldest public library is getting its first-ever renovation.

The Walnut Hills branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is just one of the library's 41 branches that will see changes over the next 10 years as part of a $150 million plan.

In 2018, Hamilton County voters approved a levy that will bring in an extra $19 million a year to the library. The 111-year-old Price Hill branch is also slated for major improvements this year.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the Facility Master Plan approved by the public is the Eva Jane Romaine Coombe Director of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Paula Brehm-Heeger.

Listen to Cincinnati Edition live at noon M-F. Audio for this segment will be uploaded after 4 p.m. ET.
