More and more, young people are ditching grocery shopping, preferring to dine out at restaurants and bars, according to the Wall Street Journal.
They'?re also using digital apps, online delivery services providing pre-packaged ingredients and recipes, and buying prepared meals at convenience stores and supermarkets. The structural shift goes beyond just millennials, it also applies to their parents and grandparents.
Here to talk about this phenomenon and what it means for the future of supermarkets and dining are Associate Director of Research at the University of Cincinnati Economics Center, Chris Nicak; and dining writer for WCPO.com and adjunct professor of English at UC Clermont College, Julie Niesen-Gosdin.
