More traffic headaches this weekend on SB471

Provided

Kentucky transportation officials say last weekend's rain delayed some of the resurfacing on Southbound 471.  But crews have been working around the clock to keep things on schedule to be completed by the first week of November.

Once again this weekend you likely will want to find an alternate route and avoid South 471.

Starting Friday evening work crews will begin installing the final pavement surface on the route.  Beginning at 10 p.m. the interstate will be reduced to a single lane from the Daniel Carter Beard, or Big Mac, bridge to 275 until 6 a.m. Monday.   In addition, entrance and exit ramps will be shutdown periodically during the work.

Construction crews are finishing a major rebuild of south 471 as part of Kentucky's Revive the Drive project.
