Greenpeace demonstrators arraigned for P&G signs

WCPO

Nine Greenpeace activists who hung signs on Procter & Gamble's downtown headquarters this month entered not guilty pleas Friday through their attorney. They are charged with burglary and vandalism.

If convicted of the March 4th incident, the charged from New York, Maryland and Washington D.C., Illinois and California, could be sentenced to nine and a half years in prison and have to pay a $20,000 fine.

Cincinnati Police say the nine used fake IDs and dressed in business suits to get in. They went to a specific floor and opened the windows to rappel down the building, unfurling the banners.

During the approximately 90 minute incident, 24 Cincinnati Police officers responded as well as two fire companies with a total of six firefighters in each company.
