Everything You Need To Know About The Arcade In Dayton

A concept rendering of the rotunda in The Arcade, Dayton, Ohio.

The Dayton Arcade, located in the heart of Dayton, Ohio's downtown business district and once a major attraction to Dayton residents and tourists, has been abandoned for decades.

But with a funding commitment from the city, plans are underway to bring the collection of nine buildings totaling over 330,000-square feet back to life. The full development plan, a key part of Dayton's overall revitalization efforts, will recast The Arcade in much the same way it was initially developed in the first decade of the 20th century – with a mix of retail, offices, public space and housing.

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the project and its potential to bring more business, residents and visitors to downtown Dayton are Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley; COO and Principal at The Model Group, Bobby Maly; Downtown Dayton Partnership Vice President of Economic Development Scott Murphy; and Director, L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership & Fifth Third Bank Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Dayton, Vince Lewis.

Tune in to Cincinnati Edition August 9 at 1 p.m. to hear this segment.
