Cincinnati City Council's budget hearing Thursday night ended abuptly when the crowd's booing at one of the speakers led Chairman David Mann to walk out. Outside the Convention Center, where the hearing was held, a protest filled the street with calls to defund the police.

Also this week, videos and photos from recent protests in the Clermont County village of Bethel drew national attention after a Black Lives Matter demonstration was dwarfed by counter protestors, some of whom identified as bikers, carried guns, allegedly assaulted others, and were heard hurling racial epithets.

Meanwhile, Governor Mike Dewine announced his proposals to reform policing in the state of Ohio. The measures would include changes to recruitment, training and oversight, all in response to the anti-racism protests.
