WOTH-TV Adds Classic Movies, Home Shopping

Elliott Block's WOTH-TV adds two new channels Memorial Day weekend, airing Classic Movies (Channel 20.7) and Evine home shopping (Channel 20.8).

Those stations will join WOTH-TV's other networks of movies (Channel 20.1), Decades (Channel 20.2). BUZZR game shows (Channel 20.3), Heroes & Legends (Channel 20.4), AMGTV (Channel 20.5) and Tuff TV (Channel 20.6).

Block also owns WKRP.tv which airs Cozi TV (Channel 25.1), This TV (Channel 25.2), Retro TV (Channel 25.3), Jewelry Television (Channel 25.4), Heartland (Channel 25.5) and Sonlife (Channel 25.6).

Low power Channels 20 and 25 are not carried by Time Warner Cable.

Here's the announcement on the new channels:

WOTH-TV channel 20 in Cincinnati is launching 2 new channels this weekend. WOTH has installed new equipment that is allowing the adding of the new channels, plus it will improve the picture quality of all 8 channels.

Some viewers may have to re-scan their TVs or converter box. Most newer TV sets will find the new channel automatically.

Channel 20.7 will have Classic Movies on it, to launch the channel on this Memorial Weekend, WOTH-TV will be airing Patriotic movies and Documentaries. Some of the titles are, “Fair well to Arms” with Gary Cooper and Helen Hayes, "Yanks are Coming” with Jane Wyman, Phil Silvers and Jimmy Durante, "At War with the Army” with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, and "Private Buckaroo” Joe E. Lewis and the Andrew Sisters, and “Why We Fight.”

Channel 20.8 will have EVINE a 24 hour shopping Network, www.evine.com.

WOTH (the other channel) is part of Block Broadcasting, a local own and operated corporation. Block Broadcasting also owns and operates Channel 25, WKRP TV (WBQC). Channel 20 and Channel 25 both broadcast from WCPO-TV's tower in Walnut Hills. Both are running the maximum power the FCC allows for these type of stations.
