Fox Renews 'Last Man Standing,' 'The Resident'

Tim Allen and Nancy Travis will star in their ninth season of 'Last Man Standiing' this fall on Fox.

Tim Allen's Last Man Standing and The Resident medical drama were renewed by Fox for the 2020-2021 TV season. They join three new series and a dozen renewals announced last week.

"The Resident and Last Man Standing are such important parts of Fox, and we’re so pleased they will be returning next season," said Michael Thorn, Fox Entertainment president, in the network media release.

Back for a fourth season at Chastain Memorial Hospital are The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Bruce Greenwood, Manish Dayal, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jane Leeves and Morris Chestnut.

Last Man Standing will begin its ninth season this fall, and its third on Fox. The Tim Allen-Nancy Travis family sitcom was picked up in 2018 when ABC canceled it. Last Man Standing is Fox's most-watched comedy in the 2019-20 season, which ends May 20.
